There is nothing more important to education than reading, and UNESCO want to do something about it. September 8 was proclaimed International Literacy Day in 1965 and the organization has worked continuously on highlighting this treatable condition. 
Events are organized worldwide to raise public awareness and support for literacy.

Please do your part to help, support literacy where you live. Volunteer at your local library, school, or Literacy America programs.
